Baby Blessings
A birth
celebration is a way to formally introduce a
child to family and friends. This usually
takes place within the first year and most
often, the first 6 months of a child’s life.
However, this can occur at any time, at any
age, particularly when there has been an
adoption.
Often performed at home but can be performed at any location. There are several ways to give thanks for the miracle of life. · Baptism – Child can be baptized into the faith of his/her parents. Some parents choose to have their child anointed with oil in addition to being baptized with water. If parents are not active in a particular religion, but worship God in a spiritual way, they may choose to have their child baptized with love. · Baby Naming – This is an option when a family prefers a ceremony less religious than a baptism. The purpose is to officially name the baby and appoint Godparents. · Welcoming – This can include baptism & child naming. The welcoming ceremony acknowledges the parents, grandparents, Godparents and siblings and allows the opportunity for a formal commitment of unconditional love and support throughout the child’s life.

A Child with Love If children live with security, they learn to have faith; If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves; If children live with love around them, they learn to give love to the world.
